COVID-19 (coronavirus) UPDATE

Like many organizations of health care professionals, WFNMB closely monitors the current situation due to the global COVID-19 outbreak.  We at WFNMB are of course particularly concerned about the health and well-being of our member states, participants, volunteers, staff, and last but not least all of our patients that we serve.

When measures are called for, we closely follow the recommendations of national and international public health authorities.

In an extraordinary session of the Austrian Parliament Sunday, March 15, 2020, the Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz extended the measures aimed at slowing the spread of the corona virus and in particular the restrictions on freedom of movement, which implies to stay home and work from home. Therefore and in accordance with measures taken by Austrian Government, the WFNMB office is closed as of March 16, 2020. You can reach our staff by eMail (NOT by phone) and they will do their utmost to keep business up and running, but please bear with them, when your message results in a longer response time than what you are used to. At the same time, all physical meetings in Vienna or abroad will be or remain cancelled or postponed!  Please do monitor activity of the various national societies and share knowledge and information how to keep nuclear medicine practice running and how to inform your patients and the public in your countries. WFNMB strongly promotes specific guidance tailored to the needs of the individual countries, given the very different situation amongst WFNMB’s member countries.
